Glitterati Productions will be holding auditions for the concert performance of a new musical, Heavenly Evening, music and lyrics by Robert Benson with a book by John Nasca.
Heavenly Evening takes place in during one night in lives of the following stars who all happened to meet in a hotel lounge for a bit of libation, revealing secrets, caustic humor and song.
We are auditioning for the following roles:
All prospective cast members:
Must have the ability to read music and sing harmony. Please prepare one ballad and one up tempo or novelty song by Cole Porter or Noel Coward or a song from the 1930's-40's. And a one minute comic monologue.
Tallulah Bankhead: 45-60's We're looking for a naturally low, deep & resonant alto voice, who can sing with a sophisticated delivery along with polished diction and vocal inflections.
Beatrice Lillie:45-60's Please have a strong alto chest voice which is capable of also singing in a legit soprano head voice. Perfect diction is important. We're looking for a singing actress who can do comedic interpretations.
Cole Porter: 45-60's A high baritone or low tenor voice.
Noel Coward: 45-60's A baritone voice with E (2 whole steps above middle C). RP accent with the ability to interpret songs in a Cowardian style.
Charles: age range 25-40. A handsome man with a movie star smile, with a baritone voice. Someone who can croon in a Sinatra type style.
Rehearsals will take place in May with the one night only performance to take place on May 18th at Stage 773.
