The purpose of Floating Opera is to bring traveling performances to towns and communities
outside of major performing centers and outside of major cities. The goal is to make opera
accessible and build a community of people around the art form. Performances will take place
in park districts, community centers, country clubs, warehouses, local theater companies,
galleries etc... The overall purpose of Floating Opera is to create an outreach that is
accessible to more than just children but adults as well. Floating Opera will provide
opportunities for professional and amateur performers to study these operas and use that as
a source of professional development to reach their future goals of performing in major opera
houses later in their careers.
Auditions will be held at Edgewater Presbyterian Church 1020 West Bryn Mawr Avenue, 3rd floor Chicago, IL 60660
