The Hypocrites are seeking a diverse cast of non-Equity performers (early 20's - early 30's) for their production of Green Day's American Idiot, directed by Steven Wilson with Musical Direction by Andra Velis Simon and Choreography by Katie Spelman. Rehearsals will begin in July with an opening scheduled for early September.
This will be a physically and vocally demanding show; we are specifically looking for flexible performers who can act, sing, dance and play one or more of the following: guitar, drums, bass, piano, and violin. Any additional instruments are also welcome. If you do not play an instrument but are a strong singer/dancer/actor, you will still be considered.
A note about casting: We seek a very diverse cast in order to represent a wide scope of humanity.
Auditions will be Sunday, March 8th, from 6pm - 10pm and Monday, March 9th, from 2:30pm - 4:30pm and 8:00pm to 11:00pm at the Menomonee Club, Drucker Center, located at 1535 N. Dayton Street Chicago, IL 60642.
Callbacks will be held the evening of March 10th and 11th. If you are called back, you will be need to be present at both callback evenings to be considered for casting.

-There will be a piano and accompanist in the the room, all other instruments should be provided by the auditionee.
-Should singing while playing your instrument be impossible, please be prepared to demonstrate your instrumental ability after singing.
