Chicago Opera Theatre is holding auditions for A Coffin In Egypt.

Seeking:
One female actress:
Supernumerary role: "Jessie" Description: She is a companion to a 90 year old woman. Although it is a non-speaking and non-singing role, she is on stage for virtually the entire opera and main scene partner to the leading lady, legendary opera star Frederica von Stade. Age range 25 - 35, of short height (5'3" or less) and average build. Preference given to those of Hispanic ethnicity, but is not required.

One male actor:
Supernumerary role: "Captain Lawson" Description: A captain in the army in WWI. He is described as "a dashing man from Myrtle's (the leading lady) past". He appears in just one scene in which they dance at an Opera House. The actor must be an excellent dancer (waltz). Late 30s. It is a non-speaking, non-singing role. Performer will play opposite legendary opera star Frederica von Stade.

Auditions will be held on multiple dats in late February, early March.
