The Cuckoo's Theater Project is accepting submissions for Bare: A Pop Opera. We are looking for Male and Female Actors who look between the ages of 18-25.
Synopsis: A group of high school seniors at a Catholic boarding school face issues of sexuality and personal identity. As they struggle to come to terms with who they are, and who the world thinks they should be, they seek answers from their Church, their friends, and ultimately, from within themselves.
Casting for the following roles
JASON: handsome golden child of St. Cecilia's senior class (must be comfortable to kiss another male)
IVY: pretty, popular, insecure
NADIA: Jason's pudgy, sardonic twin sister
MATT: studious, pious, Jason's academic rival
LUCAS: The school's fun-loving purveyor of altered reality must be able to rap
TANYA: Lucas's girlfriend African American
KYRA: student, sassy African American
DIANE: student, very naïve (Asian)
RORY: student, sarcastic
ZACK: student, jock type
ALAN: student, nerdy
SR. CHANTELLE: African-American nun, wise, no-nonsense
PRIEST: St. Cecilia's headmaster
The Roles of Peter and Claire have been cast
Auditions will be held at Pendulum Space 1803 West Byron on February 21st 2015 between 12:30pm -5pm.
Rehearsals will begin for principals in mid June with full rehearsals beginning in late June. Official opening is Aug 14 and runs thru Aug 30 show will run Fri, Sat and Sun
