Project 891 Theatre Company announces auditions for the world premiere of Homefront by Ron Popp, directed by Elissa Newcorn.

Jack Reid has just moved from New York City back to his small hometown of Ivanhoe, Tennessee. Hoping to re-evaluate his life he can never get a moment's piece. The family is trying to focus on his older brother's recent deployment to Afghanistan while his sister and her husband are expecting their first child .

First workshopped at the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs Incubator Series, Homefront is a comedy about coming to terms with your roots.

Auditions will be held Saturday January 10, 2015 from 10-2 at the Center on Halsted (3656 North Halsted)

Character Breakdown
Bill Reid-50s- blue collar worker. Lived in the same town his entire life. Civil war re-enactor. Proud of his three kids.

Maggie Reid-50s- his wife. Loving but very forgetful. The most important thing to her is her family. Not afraid to speak her mind.

Jack Reid- 20s- Bill and Maggie's son. Suddenly returns home after trying to make it as an actor in New York. Feels out of place in his hometown

Joey Macintosh-20s- Bill and Maggie's daughter. Married to Andy and pregnant with their first child. Country girl throughout but scared that her life is moving too fast

Andy Macintosh-20s - Joey's husband. Nice and loving if a bit slow.

Michael Thompson- 20s- friend of the family, best friends with Joey.
