Description:

The Wilmette Center for the Arts announces auditions for the spring production of All Shook Up Direction by Lydia Milman Schmidt Music Direction by Joseph Brewer Choreography by Brigitte Ditmars.

Character breakdowns:

Natalie Haller / Ed: A tom-boy mechanic; Falls in love with Chad. Vocal Range: Alto / E#3 to F4 Chad: Motorcycle driving new-comer in town; a roustabout. Vocal Range: Baritone / E#3 to A5

Jim Haller: Natalie's lonely widowed father; Vocal Range: Baritone/ Bb3 - F#4 Sylvia: No-nonsense owner of the Honky-Tonk on the wrong side of the tracks; Vocal Range: Alto with a Belt / E3 - F4

Lorraine: Sylvia's teenage daughter, in a secret relationship with the Mayor's son; Vocal Range: Alto with a Belt / C4 to Eb5

Dennis: A young, awkward, aspiring dentist. Natalie's best friend who is also secretly in love with her; Vocal Range: Tenor / A3 to Bb5

Miss Sandra: The beautiful and intellectual museum curator; Vocal Range: Alto / E3 to F4

Mayor Matilda Hyde: The town's very conservative mayor who has banned music and dancing. Vocal Range: Mezzo / Bb3 to C6

Dean Hyde: The Mayor's teenage son who is about to be sent back to Military boarding school; in a secret relationship with Lorraine; Vocal Range: Tenor / D4 to Bb5

Sheriff Earl: The law in town; A man of not many words; Vocal Range: Baritone / B3 to F#5

Vocal Backup Trio / "Pips": Similar to the trio of street urchins in LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS; this trio requires STRONG singers who can handle difficult harmonies. These roles will not have a large amount of lines but will have a significant amount of music and stage time.

Ensemble: Strong singers and dancers of all ages and types.

Auditions will be held at Wilmette Center for the Arts 3000 Glenview Rd Wilmette, IL 60091

Material To Prepare:

Please prepare 16-32 measures (or up to one minute) of a song that best shows off your voice and be prepared to dance. (The dance call will be held during the general auditions. Please come dressed to move at the top of the audition and you will have time to change if you need to do so before your individual audition time to sing.)
