Description:

Casting 5 Men (20s - 60s) and 3 Women (20s - 70s)

Character Descriptions:

Mollie Ralston - Proprietor of Monkswell Manor and wife of Giles. She is very excited, but nervous for her and her husband's new business venture. (20s - 30s)

Giles Ralston - Husband of Mollie who runs Monkswell Manor with his wife. He loves Mollie very much, and though he is excited about their new business venture, he does realize they are amateurs in the hotel business. (30s)

Christopher Wren - Wren is a hyperactive young man who acts in a very peculiar manner. H is the first guest to arrive at the hotel. He admits he is running away from something, but refuses to say what. (mid 20s - 30s)

Mrs. Boyle - A critical older woman who is pleased by nothing she observes. She is never happy about anything and has no problem making that perfectly clear. (60 - 75)

Major Metcalf - Retired from the army, little is known about Major Metcalf. He is a nice gentleman who in many ways keeps to himself. (40 - 60)

Miss Casewell - A strange, aloof, masculine woman who speaks off-handedly about the horrific experiences of her childhood. (30s - 40s)

Mr. Paravicini - A man of unknown provenance who turns up claiming his car has overturned in a snowdrift. He appears to be foreign and artificially aged with make-up, or is he? A strange man who enjoys being the center of attention and playing jokes on others for his amusement. (undeterminable age)

Detective Sergeant Trotter - A policeman who arrives in a snow storm, saying he has come to protect the guests from the murderer. While appearing young, he does take his job quite seriously. (mid 20s - 30s)

Time Commitment:

Performance dates for "The Mousetrap" are February 13, 14, 15, 20, 21, 22, 27 and 28.

The rehearsal schedule will be determined by the Director and is subject to the availability of the confirmed cast and crew.

Material To Prepare:

Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script.
