We are holding Auditions for Good Morning Gitmo. A 45 minute show to be produced at The Annoyance Theater starting the second week of September.

Auditions will be held this Saturday, 7/26 from 7pm - 10pm

Below is a description of Characters we are looking to cast.

Principle Characters

The Host, Colonel John Bogdan, age 25-50 who is the happy go lucky warden of Gitmo. His uber positive and infectious demeanor will get everyone through the "groundhog day". He believes, "And Idle-Mind is a Dangerous Mind." The show is Bogdans way to keep happy...Also it's his last attempt at his own sanity.

Co-host - Gamel Abdell Fateh, prisoner, age 23-35 face in enclosed in a black mesh bag with a platinum blonde whig over top. He may never speak but his pyshical behavior is detailed. Gamel's a social leader amongst the prison population.

Security Guard, age 25-35. He brutally chastises or gets in the face of prisoners at any mistakes but he's a family man who his misses his wife and daughters because he's stuck in Cuba - volunteered for the job, didn't realize how indefinite it would be.

Stu The Correspondent/Announcer, age 20-45 A guard whose off stage, gives very dated pop culture scoops. "Ah, did ya guys hear about Mitt Romney's bid for president-yup...binders full of women." Different run of painfully dated and referential bits.

The Celebrity Guests - Each celebrity guest (x3) is really a mouth piece for an element of American Psychosis and neurosis.

"The Positive Musician" - 'You can have everything in life, you just gotta be positive and trust the universe, project the image you want in your life and you'll get it' - Rhonda Byrne's The Secret type person.

"The Bill O'Reilly Book Author" - Openly and outwardly expressive of paranoia against everything.

"The Hollywood Starlet", someone like Megan Johns - She's on talk show autopilot, yet is still so insecure as to want the audience and panel's love. She promotes her movie release dates even though the prisoners will never see it. She basically got off the jet plane and was ushered to the studio, oblivious. Also oblivious to her sex appeal to an audience full of female deprived people.

Prisoners (x3) - clown actors in jumpsuits with mesh bags over their heads. Must have strong understanding of movement. Possible dream sequence with them dancing. If you have a special talent, or know someone with special, odd, interesting skills/hobbies/talents -- please consider auditioning for Prisoner.

Show Synopsis:
A 30-45 Minute show that emulates the stylings of a morning talk show, but taken place at Camp Delta in Guantanamo Bay.

The near future: As Gitmo has fallen out of the public spheres scrutiny, all the staff and detainees are left to their own rules. Out of a cabin fever like madness and to help pass time for prisoners and the staff, they producing a daily AM talk show.

Run by the Warden, an incredibly saccharine and jovial type. A prisoner co-host and sidekicks.

The form runs like a loose morning show (basically how these isolated guards and prisoners remember what a morning show runs like). Builds to have some elements of In Your Face Theater, or moments of impressionistic brush-strokes.
