Underscore Theatre Company is holding auditions for our upcoming world premiere of The Guide to Being Single. The Guide to Being Single Music & Lyrics by Alexi Kovin Book by Kaitlin Gilgenbach In the crowded bars of Wrigleyville, it can be hard to meet people. Don't you with you had a foolproof book that told you, step-by-step how to find partners for meaningless sexual encounters? The Guide to Being Single is the book for you...but be warned, when you break the rules, your world can quickly spin out of your control.

Seeking:
Jackie (Female, mid-to-late 20s, Mezzo/Belt) Smart and sarcastic, protects herself from her emotions and especially tries not to get attached to men.

Heather (Female, mid-to-late 20s, Soprano) A hopeless romantic; excellent at planning other peoples' weddings. The type of woman with a "proposal timeline" in her relationships.

Zack (Male, mid-to-late 20s, Tenor) A serial monogamist. Sweet but allows himself to be led by other people. Heather's long-term boyfriend.

Derek (Male, mid-to-late 20s, Tenor) A somewhat washed-up pitcher just traded to the Cubs. The Barney Stinson type-religiously lives by the "rules" of partying, staying unattached and having as many random hookups as possible.

Liza (Female, mid-20s, Alto) The type of girl who goes out to bars in Wrigley every weekend, but who also finds clingy men to be a drag.

Stacy (Female, mid-20s, Mezzo/Belt) The type of girl who goes out to bars in Wrigley every weekend and falls for every guy she meets. Not the sharpest tool in the shed.

Ensemble Male (Male, late 20s, Baritone) Current pitcher for the Cubs, engaged to a supermodel. Fairly shallow but also genuinely invested in his wedding details.
