Northlight Theatre is looking for two understudies:
The man needs to be a terrific piano player/accompanist. He also needs to do half the acting in the show. 30s or 40s. (although we would consider fellas in their 20s or 50s)
The woman needs to be 40s+ and have a beautiful soprano voice, but also must sing off-key for much of the show. It's Florence Foster Jenkins. The actress has to carry the show, acting-wise and also as a singer.
The comedic and musical is a true story of Florence Foster-Jenkins: a New York socialite whose tin ear couldn't keep her off the stage at Carnegie Hall. Seen through the eyes of her beloved accompanist, Souvenir is a touching and comic tribute to Ms. Jenkins' sincerity, ambition, deep love of music and complete lack of talent, all of which brought a very unique joy to thousands.
Northlight is a LORT C theatre. This show is being directed by Goodman Theatre Associate Producer Steve Scott.
