Pay: Stipend

Description:

The Waltzing Mechanics are seeking versatile, creative actors of all types for our next installment of EL Stories, directed by Tara Branham. Actors from diverse ethnic backgrounds are especially encouraged to submit. EL Stories, Chicago's hit late-night documentary theatre project, uses real-life transit tales to explore our diverse experiences as we move through this dynamic city.

All auditions will take place at the Greenhouse Theater Center. Initial auditions are Saturday, May 3rd from 12:00pm-5:00pm and callbacks are from 12:00pm – 5:00pm on Saturday, May 10th. A small stipend is offered.

Time Commitment:

Rehearsals begin Wednesday, May 21 and then run Tuesdays through Fridays from 7:00PM to 10:00PM. All rehearsals will be in Edgewater. Performances are every Saturday at 11:00pm, from June 21st through August 30th at the Greenhouse Theater Center.

Material To Prepare:

If called, please bring one hard copy of your H/R and prepare one 1-minute contemporary monologue. Callbacks will consist of prepared readings done in consultation with recordings of the original speakers and improvisation.
