Our Season 12 General Auditions are coming here and we are looking for talented actors (we are looking primarily for Latinas, but some projects need actors of all ethnicities, genders, identities, and ages-- so make sure you know that means you! Please check out SOME of the projects we are casting for, details below:

PUTAS: Seeking one Female Latina actor, 20-50 who sings, moves well and is bilingual. This is a World Premiere by Ensemble Member Liz Ann Acosta. We will need to hear Spanish in your audition. Opens October 18, 2012.

THE HOLIDAY SHOW: (Title TBA): Seeking Latina and Women of Color actors 20 - 60 for a World Premiere devised production, opening Dec 6 2012 and Closing January 7, 2013. Interested in also seeing White & Latino Men 20-40 for a supporting role. Y

OUR PROBLEM WITH MEN: Seeking one Male Latino actor, 30-late 40s to join a cast of two Latinas. This is a World Premiere by Emilio Williams. Bilingual English/Spanish is NOT necessary. Opens March 2013, but development on the play will begin in August 2012, so some availability in 2012 is preferred. 1st Public Reading August 24, 25.

LAS MUJERES WHO SERVE AND PROTECT: Seeking Latinas, 20-ANY for Teatro Luna's next ensemble play devised by Ensemble Member Gaby Ortiz Flores. Singers and dancers encouraged to audition, but actors outside this skill set are also encouraged to audition. Bilingual English/Spanish is NOT necessary. This is a chance to experience Teatro Luna's unique development process from the very beginning! Opens Fall 2013.

TOURING CAST MEMBERS: Seeking Latinas, 20-40 to add to our touring roster for the 2012-2013 season. We tour four of our devised plays (CROSSED, GL 2010, MACHOS, & S-E-X-OH!) all over the country, and we're looking for talented, dedicated and flexible performers to add to our touring company. Daytime/weekend availability is a plus. Bilingual English/Spanish NOT necessary. Opens September 2012 and runs throughout the year.

LUNADAS READING SERIES: Looking for actors of ALL racial/ethnic/gender identities for the casting pool of a bi-monthly reading series.

Some projects call for only Latinas, others call for Latinos, and some call for actors of all ethnicities, backgrounds, and ages.

Auditions will be held at Luna Central, 3914 N. Clark, Chicago IL

Time Commitment:
Each project ranges from shorter workshops that are 1-3 weeks to other projects that are 8+ months of development and production commitment.

Material To Prepare:
Please bring a head shot and resume and prepare a 1-2 minute contemporary monologue. In addition, if you sing or would like to perform your own work, please include that in your email - and be prepared with a 30 second - 1 minute (or 16 bars) sampling of that at your audition. If you are a writer of ANY genre, we encourage you to submit a piece of writing of your own that you love in advance with your email. (max 10 pages)
