Main Street Opera announces auditions for its upcoming staged production of Menotti's Amahl and the Night Visitors.
We are auditioning for the following principal roles - Amahl (boy soprano role between the age of 9 and 13), King Kaspar (tenor), King Melchior (baritone), King Balthazar (bass) and The Page(tenor).
Auditions will be held on the following two dates and locations:
Saturday September 17th between 1pm and 7pm at The Moody Bible Institute, Doane Memorial Hall, 820 N. LaSalle, Chicago IL.
Saturday, September 24th between 11am and 5pm at The District 214, Forest View Theater 2121 S Goebbert, Arlington Heights IL
Main Street Opera is committed to bringing passionate opera patrons, professional performers and the public together to bring quality opera experiences to the northwest suburbs of Chicago. We will be offering a small stipend for principals.
Rehearsals begin in mid-November 2011 with performances on December 9th, 10th and 11th at the Forest View Theater in Arlington Heights, IL.
For the audition we would prefer to hear one selection from the opera. As an alternative, bring a selection to be sung in English that will best show us your voice.
An accompanist is available for a $10 fee.
